English brand Plumo stocks a wide range of boho-inspired clothes and accessories. If (like me) you tend to shy away from this look, remember that you don't have to dress in it head to toe. There are lots of accessories to play with, and an interesting texture or unexpected fabric against a plain grey or black outfit never hurt.

Shop My Closet and... Confession Time

The 'plus' part of this blog will now refer to age, not size. This weekend I fitted into a pair of size 12 trousers, so I can now reveal that I am losing weight and changing shape! Six weeks ago I was a size 16 and 80kg. This weekend I reached my size 12 goal and I now weigh 75.5kg. I've lost about 21cm of body mass!

So, New Zealand readers can shop my closet on TradeMe.

Looking forward to trying some designers who have previously been out of reach, and dressing for my new shape. This is bound to bring with it highlights and challenges which I will share with you. Watch this space!

A Classic

Karen Walker stores (to my knowledge) are the only New Zealand stockists of beautiful Saint James nautical tees and skivvies. Their unisex Naval II, Meridien II and Minquiers 10 styles are worn by fashionistas and bloggers the world over. And they're affordable too. All three of the above styles (and the womens Levant 10 short-sleeve tee) are available at Karen Walker's Auckland stores and their Wellington store.

I decided to get the Meridien II skivvy ($105) and Naval II tee ($95) in navy stripe on a cream background. They are seriously chic, friends.

If you are thinking of purchasing one online, I suggest the Minquiers 10 as a great place to start. Lighter fabric than the Meridien II, the Minquiers is a thick tshirt fabric with a crew neck and long sleeves. Sizing is a bit tricky to get right. This style runs large as it's unisex. I am a 14F and I bought an M. I would therefore suggest the following matches for NZ womens sizing:

20 = XXL
18 = XL
16 = L
14 = M
12 = S
8/10 = XS

They're supposed to be slightly slouchy, not tight on the body.

Here's a sneak preview of my two. I'll be styling these up in some photos soon!

Tricky Trend: Denim + Denim

Now, the idea of wearing denim on top and denim on the bottom has been around for a couple of years. The way to avoid looking like your mother circa 1976? Tailoring, tone and fabric.

I find that denim shirts bulk me out so I have cheated slightly. The shirt I'm wearing is actually cotton voile. As it's dyed a rich shade of indigo, it gives the appearance of denim or chambray but is softer and more tailored. The following pictures show a very casual weekend look, but I also plan to style this baby up with:

- My black Trenery skinny jeans and black Sambag ballet flats.
- My Lonely Hearts black and white cotton pants with Superga sneakers.
- My black Zara shorts, a white tank and Superga sneakers.

Country Road VIP Event

Tonight, my lovely friend Sally and I attended an invitation-only VIP event at Country Road in Newmarket. The session kicked off with stylist Anthea O'Connor advising on the latest looks and up-coming trends for Spring/Summer 13/14. Models walked the floor (including one fuller-figured model) and then we got a spend-and-save to enjoy!

I hope to see more of these events in New Zealand. It's such a nice way to reward us VIPs! Thank you my fave, Country Road! x

White Label

Australian brand White Label makes a large range of oversized tees and pants - perfect funky loungewear. I have two Sant tees in a size 12 which would easily fit up to a size 18. Stocked by Nique of Melbourne (online shopping available):
