I hope you all have a lovely start to 2014. Thanks for visiting my little blog over the past year. I'm having lots of fun bringing you ideas and inspiration and proving that fashion does not end at forty! xx

I received a lovely KW gift voucher from Paul for Christmas and I have three items on hold in the Newmarket store right now. I will let you know what I ended up buying.
Exquisite cream wool top from the New Rose collection. Just arrived in stores. A classic, elegant cut and a reasonable price ($310). Like other New Rose pieces, I am a UK size 8 or 10 as they are mostly oversized. I don't know if I can wait until Autumn to wear this!
A Scene In Between tells the story of UK indie rock fashion from 1981 - 1988. Makes me go all nostalgic for those early 80s fashions and makeup that I was too young to enjoy but totally adore. An easy way to incorporate this look into your wardrobe? High-waisted black pants with front pleats, a silk blouse tucked in, gold hoop earrings and creepers or flatforms. Bright red lips and kohl mandatory; lop-sided hair optional.
Think beyond the high-end designer dresses worth $18,000 and think sale. Net-a-Porter discounts are generous so if you have been thinking about a designer piece at a manageable price, now is the time! Yes, prices are still high if you're comparing them to the average high street store but quality costs a little more. Here are a few pieces I have my eye on...
My days of wearing 10" heels are drawing to a close but I will still indulge in the odd pair. Of course, they live in a shoe bag in my drawer at work, coming out for a few hours of wear a day then swapped out for a 'sensible' 8" heel...
Last weekend the lovely ladies in Karen Walker Newmarket helped me put together a casual weekend outfit. I've had the Bloody Rose Tee for a couple of months and wanted to match it with something special. I tried it with the Rowdy Skirt with Tie and my white Superga sandshoes and a fabulous breezy Summer outfit was born! So glad I now fit Karen Walker! Below is the outfit as it appears online. Watch out for photos in the coming weeks!
